Romania adds more than 1,200 coronavirus cases in 24 hours

Romania reported 1,215 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 63,762 on Tuesday, August 11, the authorities announced in the daily report released at 13:00.

Separately, 613 patients who were retested still had the Covid-19 infection.

Most of the new cases were reported in Bucharest (151), Vaslui county (113), and Dâmbovița county (71).

Of the total cases, 30,585 patients have recovered, while 6,756 asymptomatic patients were discharged ten days after the diagnosis.

In the last 24 hours, 35 coronavirus patients died, pushing the death toll to 2,764 since the start of the pandemic.

Of those who passed way in the last 24 hours, one was aged 30 to 39, one was aged 40 to 49, four were aged 50 to 59, five were aged 60 to 60, 13 were aged 70 to 79, and 11 were older than 80. Thirty-three of them had previous medical conditions.

The number of patients admitted to intensive care units went up to 485, from 476 the day before. In total, 7,436 coronavirus patients were admitted to hospitals in the country.

So far, 1,404,845 tests have been carried out at a national level, 19,491 in the last 24 hours, and 7,896 on request.

Furthermore, 7,161 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection were isolating at home, while 5,419 were under institutionalized isolation. At the same time, 20,562 people were under quarantine at home, and 159 under institutionalized quarantine.
