Market analysis company Cegedim Romania has taken over the pharma software company Pharmec Healthcare Software, from the Pluriva group, controlled by Romanian investors the Tudorache family.

Cegedim thus enters the medical software market through supplying applications for doctors and pharmacies, having so far focused on drug market analysis. The Tudorache family runs the Montero group, which is a pharmaceutical distribution company, as well as the Remedio chain of pharmacies.

Cegedim Romania posted EUR 5.7 million in turnover last year, up 12 percent on 2009. The Cegedim group is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and posted revenues of EUR 925 million last year.
