Bucharest museum hosts the International Salon of Photographic Art

The 20th edition of the International Salon of Photographic Art (SIAF) opened on Tuesday, January 12, at the Bucharest City Museum.

At the current edition, the organizers have received more than 1,900 photos from 240 photographers from 39 countries. The international jury, made of professional photographers such as Italian Virgilio Bardossi and Romanians Daniel Badescu and Balasi Csaba, accepted 400 photos and awarded 38 medals and honorable mentions of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the Association of Photographic Artists in Romania (AAFR).

Moreover, at this year’s edition of the event, the works of 35 Romanian photographers have also been accepted. The best results were obtained by Nagy Lajos – FIAP gold medal for Running with the wind, Alexandra Fira – AAFR gold medal for Autumn in my soul, and Stefan Chirobocea and Bathory Zsigmond – FIAP honorable mentions for their works Autumn pastel  and Warm rocks.

All the accepted photos will be screened at the opening while the awarded ones will be displayed in an exhibition that will make stops in several cities.

The exhibition is open at the Bucharest City Museum until March 20.
