Bucharest metro company starts testing two new stations lined up for opening

The Bucharest metro company Metrorex will start tests before opening two new metro stations on the 1 Mai – Parc Bazilescu line, the Romanian Transport Ministry has announced. The two new stations, Jiului (Pajura) and Parc Bazilescu will enter the testing procedures on Thursday, June 16 and should be ready for conclusions on June 28.

Works on tunnels and the two stations were finalized in the second part of 2010, while the furnishings and the equipments were installed at the end of 2010. Construction works on these two stations started during the communist period, in 1986.

According to previous announcements, the new stations should be opened on July 1st.
