Bucharest joins No Pants Subway Ride annual event for the second consecutive year

14 December 2015

Bucharest will again host the No Pants Subway Ride annual event on Sunday, January 10, 2016, starting 15:00.

On that day, random passengers will board a subway car at separate stops, but not completely dressed for winter as you would expect them to, but without wearing pants. The participants will behave as if they do not know each other, and they all will wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves.

Those who want to be a part of this event will have to follow some rules: have a bag for the pants they will take off once they are in the station, have a valid metro card, and wear boxers or shorts. Of course, in order to join this movement, people will have to be willing to not wear pants on the subway and be able to keep a straight face about it.

Moreover, the participants can also donate some of the clothes they don’t need anymore, according to an announcement posted on the event’s Facebook page.

The Romanian capital joined this event in 2015 when it organized the first event of this kind on January 11.

Organized by Improv Everywhere in New York City, the event is to be organized in 60 other cities in the world, on the same day. Some of the other cities that will join the event are Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Boston, Brisbane, Copenhagen, Lisbon, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, Rome, and Washington.
