The famous Broadway musical Disney's Beauty and The Beast will arrive in Romania for the first time this winter.

There will be four representations at Romexpo in Bucharest between December 4 and December 6, part of an international tour. All the shows will be in English, with Romanian subtitles.

The tour features the musical's original Broadway creative team. Rob Roth is the director, Matt West signs the choreography, Ann Hould-Ward designs the costumes, Natasha Katz takes care of the lights, Stanley A. Meyer signs the scenography, John Petrafesa Jr. takes care of the sound, and Michael Kosarin is in charge of the musical direction.

Disney Beauty and The Beast is based on the animation movie with the same name (which received an Oscar in 1991). Its Broadway premiere took place in 1994. It had nine nominations for the prestigious Tony awards. Since the licensing of the title, which began in 2004, there were productions in 22 countries, which were viewed by 35 million people.

In the US, Disney's Beauty and The Beast has been licensed in over 6,750 individual theaters, including professional and school productions. For six consecutive years (2009-2014), it was the most played musical in American high schools.

Disney's Beauty and The Beast tells the story of Bella, a young woman from a small town, and The Beast, who actually a young prince cursed by a witch. Only if the Beast learns to love and be loved, the curse will be broken and he will regain his human shape. If not, he will be condemned for eternity.

Tickets are on sale on eventim.ro, and in Orange, Germanos, Vodafone, and Domo stores, Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops, Carrefour hypermarkets, and OMV gas stations.
