The bricks producer Wienerberger Group reported revenues up 19 percent in the first half of this year to EUR 986 million, but the market environment in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria and the smaller countries of Southeast Europe will most likely remain difficult, according to the company. The bricks producer also recorded a 58 percent increase in operating EBITDA globally, to EUR 123 million for the first six months.

The company sold with 18 percent more clay blocks and 25 percent more pavers in the Southeast European countries in the first half of this year. The Central-East Europe recorded a year-on-year increase of 17 percent in revenues to EUR 273 million, and 45 percent in operating EBITDA to EUR 44 million, according to the company.

Wienerberger has 263 factories in 26 countries and is present in Romania since 1998, with three brick factories in the counties of Cluj, Dambovita and Sibiu.
