Romanian lender BCR granted EUR 300 million in loans within the Government “First House 4” program and thus nearly 8,200 families bought their first house with a loan from BCR, according to the bank. So far, BCR has granted over 2,000 loans within the four stages of the First House Program, amounting to approximately EUR 900 million in loans.

The average value of a loan from the First House 4 program was of EUR 37,700, down compared to the first stage of the program when the average value was of EUR 41,200. The average value of client down-payments 10 percent of the loan.

First Home loans are partially guaranteed by the Credit Guarantee Fund for SMEs (FNGCIMM). The customers must have a personal contribution of minimum 5 percent.

BCR is the largest bank in Romania by assets, with EUR 16 billion in assets. It runs 668 branches and over 2,000 ATMs.
