Autumn heat in Romania expected to grow Rio Bucovina’s bottled water sales with 5%

Romanian non-alcoholic beverages producer Rio-Bucovina hopes to see an increase of 5 to 6 percent in sales of bottled water during the coming period over the same period last year, due to the weather forecasts that announced heat for September and October in Romania, according to the company.

“Taking into account the weather forecasts for September and October and that the bottled water market grew by 15 percent during June-July 2011 compared to the same period last year, we estimate that there will be no problems in achieving goals settled in early 2011 and in the following period, the consumption of water will be at about 5 percent above the estimates,” according to Cameila Hoinarescu, Marketing Director Rio Bucovina.

The company expects a turnover of about EUR 26 million (RON 110 million) for 2011, after EUR 20 million (RON 85 million) posted last year. In the first half of 2011, Rio Bucovina achieved a over 50 percent of the planned full-year turnover.

The bottled water market in Romania currently reaches about 10 million hectoliters, or 0.15 liters per day per person, according to Rio Bucovina.

The company was established in 2006, and its main activity is bottlingthe  Bucovina natural mineral water, and production of drinks.
