Austrian Salesianer Miettex opens new factory in Oradea, Romania, following EUR 6 mln investment

Austrian company Salesianer Miettex has opened a new factory in Oradea, Romania, following an investment of EUR six million.

Located in the Eurobusiness Industrial Park, the factory has a total area of 3,600 sqm and has a capacity to wash 25 tonnes of laundry per day.

‘Following this opening, Salesianer Miettex created over 25 jobs locally. The factory will serve the central and western parts of the country, and Eastern Hungary,” reads a statement of the company.

This is the 23rd Salesianer Miettex factory at an international level, and the first in Western Romania.

“We chose this location because we target both clients in the country, and in Hungary,” said Victor Ioane, Managing Director CEE Salesianer Miettex.

The company has factories in seven countries in Central and Eastern Europe, namely Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.

The first plant in Romania was opened in 2007 in Bucharest and employs some 100 people.

Salesianer Miettex Romania’s portfolio of clients includes Radisson Blu, Crowne Plaza, Novotel Bucharest, Double Tree by Hilton, Porsche Romania, Matei Bals Hospital.

Salesianer Miettex was founded in 1916 in Austria. Its plants process 350 tonnes of textiles daily and have over 25,000 customers.
