ArcelorMittal Galati, the biggest steel producer in Romania, has finalized a EUR 10 million investment program in modernizing and repairing a steel casting machine, the company announced on Monday, March 5.

The investment will allow the company to increase its steel production by reducing technical and accidental stops and by obtaining a higher casting speed. The quality flaws will also be eliminated.

“This project is part of our short- and medium-term efforts to modernize the steel shop and implement, as much as possible, the new automation and digitization technologies in our production processes,” said ArcelorMittal Galati general manager Bruno Ribo.

ArcelorMittal Galati is part of the ArcelorMittal group, the biggest steel producer in the world.
