Al Jazeera TV channel to broadcast in Romania

The English version of the Al Jazeera news service will be broadcasted in Romania and available to Ines Group subscribers, according to a notice sent by the National Audiovisual Council of Romania. In Romania, Al Jazeera will broadcast on a frequency licensed by Ofcom, the regulatory authority in the UK.

Al Jazeera is a network television owned by Qatar Media Corporation, headquartered in Doha, Qatar.  The network was launched on 1 November 1996, initially as an Arabic news and information service. Later, Al Jazeera developed and launched versions in several languages​​. In 2006, the English version was launched, initially called Al Jazeera International.
