Local investor launches first production unit for disposable plastic gloves in RO

01 September 2020

Barrier Vacuum Bags, a manufacturer of vacuum bags located in eastern Romania (Iasi), announces the launch of a new production line for disposable packaging for masks and gloves, and disposable polyethylene gloves.

The company aims to produce 10 million disposable glove pairs by the end of the year.

The investment in the new production line amounts to approximately EUR 300,000. It includes an extrusion line for foil, an automatic production line for disposable polyethylene gloves (including biodegradable polyethylene PLA), packaging for masks, a line for recycling and regeneration of technological waste resulting from processing, and a production line of thermal barrier bags.

The production line for disposable polyethylene gloves is the only one of its kind in Romania.

"We want to expand our operations and, through the new production line, make the products that are now in high demand on the Romanian market. We have noticed a big increase in the demand for packaging for the food and pharmaceutical segments. That is why we consider it necessary to launch such a production line: disposable packaging for masks and gloves, but also disposable gloves," said Marius Veleșcu, founder and CEO of Barrier Vacuum Bags.
