UniCredit group’s profit, up in Romania
Italian group UniCredit recorded last year in Romania a EUR 42 million consolidated profit.
This more than doubled compared to the previous year, when it had a EUR 19 million profit.
The 7% increase in the company’s deposits and loans triggered the growth, according to the group’s financial report, cited by local Wall-street.ro.
The loans went up by 6.9% from EUR 4.3 billion in 2013 to EUR 4.6 billion last year, while the deposits increased from EUR 3.4 billion to EUR 3.64 billion.
The operating income decreased by 3.1% to EUR 354 million, while the operating expenses went down by 2.3% to 173 million.
UniCredit is active on the Romanian market through the UniCredit Tiriac group, which holds a 7.17% market share. It ranks 6th in the local banking system.
