The Swiss Franc appreciated sharply on Romania's foreign exchange market on Friday, January 23.

The Romanian National Bank (BNR) calculated an exchange rate of RON 4.5817 /CHF, up RON 0.0665 (1.47%) compared to Thursday, January 22.

The Romanian currency Leu has lost nearly RON 0.16 in a week against the Swiss Franc.

The euro fell against the Romanian Leu with RON 0.007 (0.16%), to a rate of RON 4.4935/ EUR, from RON 4.5005/ EUR in the previous session.

The US dollar became meanwhile more expensive with RON 0.12 (3.25%), on Friday reaching RON 3.9980/USD.

The price of gold also went up by 3.66%, to RON 166.1.
