Software producer to provide Romanian Government with EUR 3.75 mln IT system

Romanian software producer Siveco will provide an IT system for streamlining internal work at the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG), by optimizing SGG's cooperation with other public administration institutions, in a contract worth EUR 3.75 million (VAT included), according to local Mediafax.

Siveco Romania's bid was made in a joint venture with the Bucharest-based IT company Expert One Research. Two other joint ventures submitted tenders, namely Power Net Consulting, Romair Consulting and Evolva Trend Consulting, respectively Computas IT Romania, Iquest Technologies, Cloud Soft, Digisign, Matrix Business Consulting and Software Business Union.

The contract is for 12 months and will be financed from the state budget and EU funds.

Siveco Romania was founded in 1992 and is one of the largest local producers of software.

In September this year, two of Siveco's shareholders, Irina Socol and Aurora Crusti, were detained for tax evasion in the sale of software, at the request of the Prosecutor of the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
