Romania's Tax Administration ups budget revenue collection by 10%

05 March 2015

The Romanian Tax Administration ANAF collected in February budget revenues amounting to EUR 3.1 billion, up 10.8% year-on-year.

The amount includes money from the claw-back and vice tax but does not include funds from the European Union.

The ANAF exceeded its targeted achievements: 107.1% of the budget revenues program, reads a press release.

The increase is the direct result of fighting tax evasion and increasing revenues from the VAT by 20.9% and from excise duties by 56.2% year-on-year.

The VAT collection increased due to the institution’s better management processes and to a rise in consumption, according to the document.

ANAF collected EUR 6.98 billion in budget revenues in the first two months of the year, without including the EU funds.
