Romania's oil & mining royalties up 11%

Romania received EUR 350 million worth of royalties from oil&gas and mining companies, up by almost 11% compared to 2013, according to the National Agency for Mineral Resources (ANRM), quoted by Economica.

The largest royalties came from the oil and gas sector, with some EUR 306 million paid by companies such as OMV Petrom, Romgaz and others.

OMV Petrom was the largest royalty payer, with EUR 191 million paid for the oil and gas extracted in Romania. Romgaz was the second major contributor, with EUR 65 million payments.

Other smaller contributors were Amromco Energy and Stratum Energy Romania. The royalties for other minerals stood at some EUR 42 million. These include fees for coal, construction materials such as clay, limestone, sand and gravel, as well as mineral water.
