Romania's Government to approve new Fiscal Code project in March

26 February 2015

The Government will discuss the new Fiscal Code project between March 18 - 25 again, but this time to pass it, reports local Mediafax.

The Executive presented last week the draft project, which proposed a VAT reduction from 24% to 20% before the end of the year.

President Klaus Iohannis then said that he had some doubts about the tax cuts, showing that the Government did not mention how it would manage the tax reductions.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta however said that no one in Romania could have a better project that the one the Government presented. He also added that the Government considers taking responsibility for the new Fiscal Code if the Parliament blocks it and does not adopt it by the end of this parliamentary session.
