Romania's Finance Ministry wants to borrow EUR 617 mln from commercial banks

02 April 2015

Romania’s Public Finance Ministry plans to borrow some EUR 617 million from commercial banks in April.

It wants to borrow EUR 567 million of these through six auctions of treasury bills and bonds, and EUR 50 million through an additional session of non-competitive bonds, related to bond auction, reports local Economica.net.

The Ministry will use the money to refinance debt and finance the state budget deficit.

It will organize an auction of treasury bills at a discount on April 28, worth EUR 226 million. It will also hold five benchmark bond auctions with maturities of three, five, seven and ten years, each followed by an additional session of non-competitive bonds.

The Ministry intends to borrow in 2015 about EUR 2.26-2.72 billion by issuing treasury bills and EUR 5.6 - 6.3 billion through benchmark bonds.
