Romania’s auto industry went up by 20% to EUR 15.9 billion in 2013.Car production accounted for EUR 5.2 billion while car parts production generated EUR 10.7 billion.

The auto industry represented 11% of the GDP and 24% of the exports in 2013, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

If the trend continued, the auto industry’s turnover might have reached EUR 17 billion in 2014.

Car producer Automobile Dacia stayed in the top in 2014, with a production of 340,000 units and a EUR 4 billion market share. Car producer Ford ranked third, with 60,000 cars and 900 EUR million exports in 2014.
