Dedeman, Romania’s largest DIY retailer, will open next week a new store in eastern Bucharest.

Work on this 41st store has started last fall. The shop, which will be located on the Theodor Pallady Blvd., will employ about 200 people, according to local wall-street.ro.

After the German do-it-yourself retailer Obi left Romania, the Theodor Pallady Blvd. has remained Bucharest’s only exit to a highway which doesn’t have a DIY retailer.

Dedeman will now be the only do-it-yourself retailer in the area. The company plans to open in 2015 about 4-5 units and reach a network of 45 units. Its turnover exceeded EUR 700 million in 2014.
