Local telecom player RCS&RDS will launch the news radio station Digi FM on November 11, according to sources in the media market cited by Mediafax.

The RCS&RDS group owns the Digi 24 news channel, the Digi Sport sports channels, and other TV stations, as well as the radio stations Pro FM and Info Pro.

The telecom player has bought this year several important radio licenses from the Central European Media Enterprises (CME), which is a media company operating on six major markets in CEE. Pro FM will continue to broadcast mainly music, and Info Pro will turn into the Digi FM news radio.

Zoltan Teszari, the owner of RCS&RDS, is the richest Romanian who also owns a media business. Besides venturing in the media business, RCS & RDS has ongoing development projects of electricity distribution networks.
