Romanian pharma maker works with three Indian companies

Local pharmaceutical manufacturer Antibiotice Iasi (ATB), owned by the Romanian state, will work with three Indian companies to develop antiviral drugs for treating tuberculosis and cancer, according to Indian newspaper The Economic Times, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

Antibiotice Iasi will work with the Indian company Aurobindo Pharma for the development of antiviral drugs, with the Indian company Macleods Pharma for tuberculosis treatment products and with the Indian company Cipla for oncology drugs, according to Mario Cretu, counselor of the Romanian Health Minister, quoted by The Economic Times.

Cretu also said that Romania will collaborate with India to purchase licenses to sell drugs in Europe.

A Romanian delegation headed by the Minister of Health Nicolae Banicioiu is currently visiting India.
