Romanian MP Liana Dumitrescu dies of rare brain disease

Romanian MP Liana Dumitrescu died Thursday morning at the Elias emergency hospital in Bucharest of a rare brain disease, sources in the hospital said. She was 38.  Dumitrescu suffered from a rare brain disease which escalated rapidly, which made her transfer to another clinic impossible, the hospital manager said Wednesday. She was admitted to hospital on January 18 and her condition worsened rapidly.

Dumitrescu, who represented the Macedonian minority in Parliament, also served in the 2004 - 2008 legislature.
