Romanian livestock farmers receive EUR 214 mln financial aid

05 March 2015

The Government allocated a EUR 214 million financial support for livestock farmers, following two decisions approved on Wednesday, March 4.

Cattle breeders will receive about EUR 152.6 million, whereas sheep and goats breeders will get some EUR 61.8 million, reports local Capital.ro. The amounts come from the state budget.

Compared to other EU countries, Romania’s livestock per 100 hectares of land still lags behind in some sectors.

The number of sheep and goats, however, rank Romania quite high in the EU, statistics show.
