Romanian leasing market up 17% percent in first quarter

The Romanian leasing market increased by 17 percent in the first quarter of this year, reaching a value of EUR 284.57 million of financed goods, according to the Association of Financial Companies, ALB Romania. In the first quarter of 2010, the market value stood at EUR 242.74 million.

Almost a quarter of the total funding went to equipments, 16 percent the real estate and 63 percent the transport sector, according to ALB Romania.

Corporate customers attracted the largest share, of 92 percent of total financing, followed by retail, with 6 percent and the public sector with 2 percent.

ALB Romania was established in March, 2004 as a non-profit organization.
