Romanian investment manager buys pension funds manager

The largest Romanian independent investment manager, SAI Certinvest has bought a pension fund management company called APF - Societatea de Administrare a Fondurilor de Pensii Facultative (“The Management Company of the Voluntary Pension Funds”) from insurance group Metropolitan Life.

Via the deal, it also became manager of the voluntary pension fund "Pensia Mea" (“My Pension”), reports local Economica.net.

"We have taken a very strong commitment to the pensions market, where we identified significant opportunities for future development," said Eugen Voicu, Certinvest founding shareholder.

In December 2014, Certinvest signed a contract with the French insurance group AXA to take over its life insurance business in Romania.

Certinvest manages total assets of about EUR 57.4 million, in individual portfolios and in 16 investment funds.
