Romanian insurer CertAsig increased its turnover last year by 8%, reaching gross written premiums worth EUR 13 million, above the EUR 12 million in 2013.

The company, which has operations in Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria, grew for the fifth consecutive year.

Insurance warranties amounted to EUR 4 million, up 3% over the previous year, and reached a 31% share of the company’s premiums.

The volume of written premiums for goods and engineering areas increased by EUR 60% to EUR 2.5 million.

Marine insurance for Turkey and the Black Sea region generated 35% of the total premiums, namely EUR 4.5 million.

Romania is the primary market for CertAsig, which generates 65% of the company’s business, whereas Turkey contributes by 35%. Bulgaria, where the insurer opened a branch in 2014, is still at the beginning of activity.
