Romanian Dacia car registrations down in Germany while market up

New Dacia car registrations in Germany fell by 11.2% year-on-year in the first two months of 2015, reaching 6,616 units.

The German car market increased during this period by 4.6%, according to the German Vehicle Registration Office, reports local Mediafax.

At the end of February, Dacia’s market share was 1.5%. Dacia sales in Germany went down by 16.2% in February, to 2,878 units.

The biggest increases in new car registrations during this period were recorded by Lexus, with 81.5%, reaching 245 units, followed by Jeep, with a 74.4% increase, to 2,037 units and Mitsubishi, which grew by 65.1%, to 4,601 units.

Renault’s new car registrations dropped by 3.8% in the first two months, to 12,870 units. The French group Renault owns both Renault and Dacia brands.
