Romanian Competition Council fines four oil drilling companies
The Competition Council has fined four oil drilling companies, for having rigged auctions organized by the Romanian gas producer Romgaz.
The companies, which included Dafora SA, Foraj Sonde SA Craiova, Foraj Sonde Targu Mures and Upetrom 1 Mai SA, got a EUR 2.9 million fine.
Foserco SA, part of the US group Weatherford, didn’t get a fine as it cooperated with the authorities. It provided the Competition Council evidence of the competition law breach.
The five companies agreed to share the drilling works for which Romgaz organized auctions and decided the auction winners beforehand.
