Romanian companies pay EUR 0.9 mln for EU lobby

06 October 2014

State companies in Romania spent a total of EUR 900,000 last year to lobby within EU institutions in Brussels, reports local Digi24. This is, however, not such a large amount when compared to the one spent by American company Chevron alone – EUR 1 million. Gabriel Resources, which owns the Rosia Montana mining project in Romania, spent EUR 200,000 on lobby activities at EU institutions in 2013.

Among the Romanian companies, the air traffic services administration Romatsa was one of the state companies with the highest lobbying expenditures – EUR 100,000, while the Romanian Post spent EUR 50,000 on lobby activities at the European Union.
