Romanian business news site editor appointed state secretary in Economy Ministry

Romanian business journalist Claudiu Vrinceanu, editor-in-chief of the Wall-Street.ro business news website, was recently appointed state secretary in the Economy Ministry. Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos made the appointment, which was officially announced on Thursday, December 11.

“I have accepted minister Costin Borc’s proposal and I’m starting my activity in the minister with confidence. Briefly, my activity will focus on facilitating the dialog between the public authority and the business community, developing programs for the small and medium enterprises, and initiating strategies for the business environment development,” Vrinceanu wrote on his personal blog.

Vrinceanu, 31, has 11 years of experience in business media. He worked with local group InternetCorp on setting up and developing Wall-Street.ro, which has become one of the top business news publications in Romania.

Costin Borc, the new Economy Minister, has also worked in the private sector before being nominated by Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos for this position. Borc, 49, was CEO of cement producer Lafarge Serbia between 2008 and 2013, and then he took over as CEO of Lafarge Romania, which this year became CRH Romania.

Romanian business journalist Claudiu Vrinceanu, editor-in-chief of the Wall-Street.ro business news website, was recently appointed state secretary in the Economy Ministry. Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos made the appointment, which was officially announced on Thursday, December 11.
