Romanian athletes get silver, bronze at international sports events

A silver and two bronze medals came Romania's way earlier this week, in two separate sports events. The silver was won by the athlete Nicolae Alexandru Soare at the 10,000 meters race at the European Athletics Under 23 in Tampere, Finland. Soare finished the race in 29 minutes and 43 seconds. The gold medal in that race went to Spaniard Gabriel Navarro, who had a better time by 53 hundredth seconds.

Two bronze medals will arrive in Romania together with their winner, the sprinter Andreea Ogrăzeanu (in picture), for her performances at the 100 meters and 200 meters relay races at the Summer Universiade World Games which took place in Russia. With these two races, the Romanian bested her personal records.
