Romanian airline Tarom launches group offer for Romanians who fly to Rome

Romanian state airline Tarom is targeting the groups of Romanians who fly to Italy at the end of summer with a new offer for groups of 5 to 10 people, who can benefit from a special tariff. The offer, valid from September to November, comes with a EUR 150 return ticket on the Bucharest – Rome route, the company has announced.

Tickets are on sale until mid-November and trips are valid until the end of November. Passengers have to spend minimum two days in Italy but not longer than two weeks.

Tarom flew 2.1 million passengers last year, 23.6 percent more than in 2009. Tarom expects to carry over 2.4 percent passengers this year, at a passenger load factor of 64 percent. Italy is one of Romanians' work destinations, with over a million Romanians living there.

The Romanian Government has recently approved the privatization strategy for the National Society of Romanian Air Transport “Tarom SA”. The privatization will be made by selling a 20 percent stake in the company’s share capital in accordance with the commitments made to the International Monetary Fund.
