Romania to host first edition of European Fair of Castles next year

24 July 2014

The first edition of the European Fair of Castles will be organized next year at the Corvin Castle (Castelul Corvinilor) in Hunedoara, in the region of Transylvania, Romania. The event will take place between May 1 and May 3, 2015.

“We are addressing to museums, palaces, castles and fortresses across Europe that want to take part in this event dedicated exclusively to such historical monuments. At this fair, exhibitors will present their tourist offers and the main tourist attractions and historical elements,” said Costin Tinca, director of Corvinilor Castle Museum, cited by local Mediafax.

So far, six participants confirmed presence at the fair, namely the Godollo Palace and Rakoczi Castle in Hungary, Castle of La Mota in Spain, as well as three from Romania: the Brukenthal Museum, Peles National Museum and the Museum of Fagaras in Romania.

Travel planner: Hunedoara’s “fairy tale” castle is worth the trek or detour.
