Romania has EU’s fourth largest increase in new car sales

Romania had the fourth largest increase in new car registrations in the European Union (EU) last year, up 21.6%, on a rising European car market for the first time since 2007, while the local car brand Dacia posted the most important advance among the high-volume brands, up 23.9%.

Romania's new car registrations increased to 70,172 units in 2014 compared to 57,710 cars in 2013, reports local Mediafax.

Dacia sold 359,141 cars in 2014 compared to 289,795 units in 2013.

In the EU, new car sales went up by 5.7% year-on-year in 2014, to 12.5 million units, recording the first growth after six years of decline.
