Romania auctions off Emergency Call System contracts

Romania’s Special Telecommunication Services (STS) has launched two auctions for contracts worth EUR 14.9 million to extend the Single National Emergency Call System 112 and to increase the cooperation between central and local public institutions.

STS, an agency with military status, coordinates special communications activities, for institutions such as the Presidency and the Government among others.  STS is also in charge of the Single National Emergency Call System.

The first contract is worth EUR 12.9 million and has a 6-month duration, whereas the second one, worth EUR 2 million, has a 5-month duration, reports local Mediafax.

The projects will be financed from the budget and with non-reimbursable European funds.
