Romania, among cheapest countries in the region to set up limited liability and joint stock companies

Romania ranks second in the region on the costs of setting up a limited liability company (SRL), as an input to the share capital, with only EUR 45. The Czech Republic holds the first place, with just EUR 1, according to a study by Accace, quoted by Dailybusiness.ro.

At the other end of the scale is Slovakia, where one needs EUR 5,000 in share capital to start a company. The costs are high in Hungary and Poland too, with EUR 1,737 and EUR 1,200, respectively. In the Czech Republic, however, the highest cost for setting up a joint stock company, with a minimum capital of EUR 72,930.

In Hungary, for setting up this company, the amount needed is of EUR 69,000. In Romania, which ranks third in this ranking, at par with Slovakia, the minimum share capital to start a joint stock company is of EUR 25,000.
