Over four dozen companies submit applications for EUR 600 mln state aid in Romania

30 December 2014

Romania had 51 companies submit applications for state aid between September 22 and November 28, 2014, under a government decision on state aid scheme amounting to EUR 600 million, according to Ziarul Financiar.

Security services company Alistar, Japanese car parts producer Yazaki and Oradea-based private healthcare operator Pelican are companies that could create 6,000 jobs if the state aid applications are accepted.

The Government approved in September a state aid scheme for companies, aiming to stimulate investments with major impact on the economy.

The financing agreements may be issued until 2020 and the scheme has a EUR 600 million budget, for non reimbursable funding of tangible and intangible assets for the initial investment. The maximum annual budget for the state aid scheme is EUR 100 million.
