National Bank: Romania's non-governmental loans slightly up in September

Romania’s non-governmental loans totalled some EUR 50 billion at the end of September this year, up 0.5 percent compared to the previous month, shows the data from the country’s central bank BNR.

Compared the same month in 2012, the non-governmental loans granted by credit institutions decreased 3.3 percent in September this year.

Government credit had a month-on-month increase of 2.3 percent in September 2013, while compared to the same period last year, it went down 4.1 percent.

The RON-denominated non-governmental loans increased by 1.9 percent, while foreign currency-denominated loans fell by 0.3 percent when expressed in RON and by 0.8 percent when expressed in EUR.

The deposits of non-government resident customers went up 0.9 percent in September this year over the previous month, to some EUR 46 billion.

The resident’s deposits in RON posted a month-on-month increase of 0.6 percent, while the forex-denominated deposits increased 1.4 percent.
