Mobile internet traffic up to 9% in Romania

Romania ranks 13th among the 18 countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) on mobile internet traffic carried out on tablets and smartphones, which went up to 9% in June 2014, from 1% in January 2011, according to the Polish research and consultancy company Gemius, reports local Mediafax.

The top five countries are Croatia (21%), Lithuania (18%), Slovakia (17%), Serbia (16%), Macedonia (14%), and the lowest ranked countries are Bulgaria (9%), Russia (9%), Belarus (6%), Ukraine (5%) and Moldova (1%).

As much as 71% of the tablet traffic in Romania was carried out on iPad tablets in June 2014, but Apple is losing its leading position in Central and Eastern Europe due to the increasing popularity of the Samsung tablets. As for the smartphones traffic, Samsung ranks first, covering 45% of the traffic.
