Fast-food chain McDonald's invested last year over EUR 2.9 million in Romania to develop its coffee chain McCafé and to launch new products, reports local Ziarul Financiar.

In 2014, the fast-food giant sold over 49 million burgers and 4 million coffees, with the Big Mac sandwich and fries being the best selling products.

The company renovated and expanded four restaurants last year, and the number of coffee shops under the McCafé brand reached 14 units.

McDonald's, which entered the Romanian market in 1995, currently has over 4,000 employees.
