Legendary rock band Queen's lead guitarist to play in Romania for the first time

08 October 2015

Brian May, the lead guitarist of legendary rock band Queen, will perform for the first time in Romania next spring. The artist will go on stage with English actress and singer Kerry Ellis on March 14, at Sala Palatului in Bucharest.

The show in Bucharest is included in the second part of the One Voice tour, which comprises 11 other cities in Eastern Europe such as Krakow (Poland), Ostrava, Zlin, Brno and Prague (the Czech Republic), Budapest (Hungary), and Sofia (Bulgaria).

Brian May was a founding member of Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor. Following the death of Mercury in 1991, Queen were put on hiatus for several years but were eventually reconvened by May and Taylor for further performances featuring other vocalists such as Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert.

Brian May is also seen as one of the greatest guitarists of all times. In 2005, a Planet Rock poll saw May voted the 7th greatest guitarist of all times. He was also ranked No. 26 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.

The gig in Bucharest will include Queen songs, as well as reinterpretations of classic hits played by famous bands such as The Beatles.

Tickets cost between RON 121 and RON 436, plus ticketing commissions, and can be purchased online from eventim.ro.
