Italian steel factory invests USD 14 mln in training center in Romania

20 April 2015

Italian steel factory Tenaris has invested USD 14 million (EUR 12.9 mln) in a training center for its 1,700 employees in Zalau, northwestern Romania.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Transport Minister Ioan Rus and the company’s CEO Paolo Rocca attended the opening event.

“Tenaris is exactly the type of company that any country, local community and Government wants because it means substantial investments on the medium and long-term,” said Ponta.

The new center will be a bridge to the community, said Michele Della Briotta, area manager Tenaris, reports local Agerpres.

The company has reduced its turnover, due to the global and oil crisis, but the investment in Romania is the safest for the group, said Paolo Rocca.
