Insurers’ gross written premiums, down 4% in Romania
Local insurers’ gross written premiums dropped by 4.1% in the first nine months of 2014, down to EUR 1.33 billion.
The amount of claims the companies paid decreased by 2.34%, down to EUR 811 million.
The top 3 local insurers with highest revenues in this period include Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari, Omniasig VIG and Astra Asigurari.
The top 10 insurance companies have gross written premiums worth over EUR 1.12 billion, representing 79% of the total market.
Insurer Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari had EUR 162 million in gross underwritten premiums, whereas Omniasig VIG and Astra Asigurari had EUR 130.6 million, respectively EUR 130.1 million in gross underwritten income.
They were followed by insurers Groupama Asigurari, ING Asigurari de Viata, Carpatica Asigurari, Asirom VIG, Euroins, Generali Romania, Uniqa Asigurari.
