Industrial turnover, up by 7.8% in Romania
The industrial turnover increased last year by 7.8% over 2013.
This was due to the growth in the manufacturing (7.8%) and the mining and quarrying industries (7.5%), according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The energy industry grew by 13.7%, the durable goods industry by 12.3%, the capital goods industry by 8.5%, the intermediate goods industry by 7.6% and the consumer goods industry by 4.1%.
In December 2014, the industrial turnover went down by 10.4% compared to the previous month. The drop in the manufacturing (-10.7%) and the mining and quarrying industry (-5.3%) determined this.
However, compared to December 2013, the industry turnover in the last month of 2014 increased by 4.2%.
