Coolest summer job ever: Romanian tour operator hires holiday traveler

20 April 2015

One of the biggest online tour operators in Romania has launched a competition to recruit a travel aficionado who will fly all summer long to the most popular holiday destinations frequented by Romanian tourists.

The winner of this dream job will get the chance to visit at least nine of the destinations available on Paravion.ro, the organizing tour operator, including the Greek islands of Zakynthos and Santorini, Antalya in Turkey and Dubai. The tourism agency will pay for all the expenses, starting with the holiday packages, the extra trips, and pocket money.

In exchange, the permanent tourist will have to share online photos, short films and stories about the visited places. The agency will also provide the winner with everything needed for the job, including laptop, phone, photo camera and video camera, as well as training.

“The traveler will get to experience everything before the other tourists, will visit luxury hotels, will go on trips, will try the local cuisine, interact with locals and admire the dream sceneries. And, at the end of the day, will share everything online with those at home via photos, films and stories,” said Remus Visan, managing director of Paravion.ro.

The job starts on May 26 and ends in October.

Anyone in Romania that’s over 18 can apply for the job by sending a short 60-second film presenting his or her favorite place and sharing to the others why the place is so special. Applications can be submitted by May 15. The recruiting team will select five finalists for face to face interviews and will announce the winner on May 22.

Paravion is one of the largest online tour operators in Romania. Romanian Remus Visan founded the company and Spanish investment fund GED bought a majority stake in 2010. Paravion operates in several markets in Eastern Europe and Turkey.
