French firm to repair streets in near-Bucharest village

The Pantelimon City Hall in Ilfov County near capital Bucharest has awarded a EUR 11.1 million contract to Viarom Construct, owned by the French group Vinci, to modernize the road infrastructure and the city street alignments for a 29-km stretch, as well as for drainage works on about 19 km.

The contract was awarded on Monday, January 12, following an open tender where six offers had been admitted, according to a city hall announcement, cited by local Mediafax.

The investment is financed through the Regional Operational Programme.

The French construction, transport and infrastructure company Eurovia, which owns Viarom Construct, is part of the French group Vinci. Viarom Construct posted a turnover of EUR 41.1 million in 2013 and a net profit of about EUR 266, 000, and had approximately 220 employees.
