Foreign direct investments on the up in Romania

Romania saw its foreign direct investments –FDI - growing by 45% year-on-year, to some EUR 409 million in the first two months of this year, the Romanian Central Bank announced.

Capital participations, including net profit, stood at some EUR 358 million of the entire amount,  and some EUR 51 million were intra-group loans.

In February, FDI went up 36% month-on-month.

The country ended the first two months of the year with a EUR 285 million surplus. It was better than the result in the first two months of 2014, when it posted a deficit of EYR 201 million.
